Im gonna probably try to figure out a alternative to discord eventually because of stuff like this.

When i searched up the site i immediately got a warning that the place was malicious and probably would try to install viruses.

discord is slowly turning foul. Like meat left out turning rancid. Look for alternatives because the only reason companies get lazy like this is they think you have no good alternatives. And guys please stop spending money on nitro dont support discord if it does garbage like this.

Imagine being a mod, you are asleep, someone posts very illegal material, Discord comes in and bans the entire server and finds you, as staff, were being negligent so they ban you too. What is this, the dark ages? You were off duty! They have no right to hang you for a crime! Pointing out that Discord staff have the ability to tell who joined a server and what they've seen and when means absolutely NOTHING. Because Discord staff can choose to just NOT check and therefore punish everyone.

I reported a user to the police for sending me snuff photos over DMs (I hope they were fake). They were clearly insane. This was before you could go into settings and say people need to get your approval before DM'ing you. Now, this was a single user, although they kept coming back with one of their 70 alternative accounts, something Discord lets people do. I am dreading the idea of the police informing Discord of this user and Discord banning the server I was in, banning me with it. I was the f*cking victim! I committed no crime!

I don't think discord should be held responsible for something the users do. The users should be free to do things without discord being their babysitter. the users should be given privacy. If discord were to promote people doing illegal things or is involved in it, or knows about something illegal going on and don't do anything about it, that''s an issue. But discord shouldn't be held responsible for people doing illegal things on their platform.

I'm glad I left discord, I will never go back on that platform for so many reasons that would take almost 20 minutes to read

in 2019 i reported someone for admitting they were younger than the age required to be on discord and instead they banned my account and not the person i reported lol.

Thanks for raising awareness about this, I’m glad I watched this video before making my first discord account. I haven’t joined any mental health related servers but it’s sad on how toxic some of those kinds of servers are.

My work wanted me to Sign an arbitration Clause. We literally worked in healthcare with intellectually disabled people. I told them absolutely not. They threaten to fire me I told them they can do what they want to do. Eventually they did fire me I decided not to take them to court even though I could have.

Oh so THIS is why Discord wanted to implement that arbitration clause so people can't take them to court.
